An operetta based on the life and music of Edvard Grieg.
Romantically portrayed and with glorious music, Song of Norway tells the story of composer Edvard Grieg as he dreams of international fame. That dream quickly fades, however, under the patronage of a famous Italian prima donna, and Grieg realizes that his true creativity lies in his two greatest loves – Nina, his childhood sweetheart and his home in Troldhaugen, Norway. Set in 1860, Robert Wright and George Forrest (of Kismet) cleverly weave Grieg’s compositions together in this heart-warming operetta/musical. Grammy Award winner Ted Sperling conducts and directs, with Broadway greats Judy Kaye and Jason Danieley and the American Symphony Orchestra joining The Chorale for this special evening.
